In a new effort to silence conservative voices, Facebook deleted the account of the well-known American actor Kevin Sorbo, who denounced that, in addition to losing more than 500,000 followers, the platform deleted his account without offering any kind of explanation.
In a tweet, Sorbo announced, “BREAKING: Facebook has deleted my official account with over 500,000 followers I have created a new page, spread the word!” Since the announcement, the actor’s new page has gained more followers.

The actor is known for playing the lead role in the 1990s series, “Hercules, the Legendary Journeys” and Captain Dylan Hunt in the 2000 series “Andromeda.” He is also known for being an outspoken Christian and critic of liberalism.
The actor had previously been censured by Facebook in 2018 for criticizing a Nike ad campaign promoting the iconic “Just Do It” slogan featuring former NFL player and activist Colin Kaepernick.
“I just returned a pair of Nike shoes to the store. I complained that they hurt my feet when I stand for the [national anthem],” the actor wrote at the time regarding the former NFL player who was chosen to promote a dubious message of social engagement and sacrifice while being an average player.
Sorbo is also known for gaining prominence on social networks as an opponent of measures put in place during the pandemic such as the use of masks, referring in particular to the use of masks during the Super Bowl, as a “political message.”
As reported by RT, Facebook’s move against the actor also comes after the company announced new restrictions against “false” and “discredited” claims surrounding CCP Virus (COVID-19) and vaccines.
Sorbo also joined conservative voices calling for people to cancel their Disney+ subscriptions after actress Gina Carano was fired from The Mandalorian series for making comments that compared the current political divide in the United States to the persecution of Jews in Nazi Germany.
Regarding the actor’s censorship on the social network, Newsbusters reported that Facebook did not respond to questions about the rationale for removing his account.
As noted by The Blaze, the tech giant is among the platforms that are currently being criticized for censoring political speech that is critical of the left.
Different voices have questioned whether tech companies are politically motivated in selectively enforcing their policies, while liberal and progressive voices have urged such companies to be stricter with censoring conservative speech that they deem harmful.
