America’s chief law enforcement officer warned extreme protesters in Washington could face up to a decade behind bars.

Acting U.S. Attorney General Jeffrey Rosen promises to prosecute hundreds of extremists to the maximum extent of the law for allegedly storming the Capitol on Jan. 6.

“The Department of Justice is committed to ensuring that those responsible for this attack on our government and the rule of law face the full consequences of their actions under the law,” he said in a statement. “Some participants in yesterday’s violence will be charged today. We will continue to methodically assess evidence, charge crimes, and make arrests in the coming days and weeks to ensure that those responsible are held accountable under the law.”

Rosen still cannot believe the group smashed windows, vandalized public property, seized offices, and even forced the complete evacuation of both the House and Senate.

“Our nation watched in disbelief as a mob breached the Capitol building and required federal and local law enforcement to help restore order,” he said.

He revealed the U.S. Capitol Police; FBI; Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives; and Metropolitan Police Department are continuing to investigate exactly who was behind the siege.

“Our criminal prosecutors have been working throughout the night with special agents and investigators … and the public to gather the evidence, identify perpetrators, and charge federal crimes where warranted,” he said.

Anyone found guilty could face up to 10 years in jail for the “willful injury of federal property” according to President Donald Trump’s executive order on protecting American monuments, memorials, and statues and combating recent criminal violence.

“Many of the rioters, arsonists, and left-wing extremists who have carried out and supported these acts have explicitly identified themselves with ideologies—such as Marxism—that call for the destruction of the United States system of government,” the president said in the order.

Rep. Mo Brooks (R-Ala.) has found evidence Capitol building rioters were posing as Trump supporters while they were actually linked to antifa and other radical leftist groups.

“Please, do not be like fake news media, do not rush to judgment on assault on Capitol,” he said on Twitter. “Wait for [the official] investigation, all may not be (and likely is not) what appears. Evidence [is] growing that fascist Antifa orchestrated Capitol attack with clever mob control tactics.”

“Congressman told me he was warned on Tuesday by [a] Capitol Police officer that intelligence suggested fascist Antifa was going to try to infiltrate the Trump rally by dressing like Trump supporters,” he added on Twitter.
