A controversial Democrat from the epicenter of the nation’s deadly pandemic wants Americans to continue isolating themselves after the lockdown officially ends.

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) has urged all U.S. residents to continue living in isolation, even if Congress decides to lift social distancing rules used to contain the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) Virus.

“When we have this discussion about going back or reopening, I think a lot of people should just say ‘No, we are not going back to that'” Ocasio-Cortez (AOC) told VICE TV’s “Seat at the Table.

The remarks came after program host Anand Giridharadas began speculating that President Donald Trump’s concerns about what others think about his masculinity were “literally threatening to annihilate the planet.”

AOC wanted those who had a job before the national shutdown to reject any offer from their employers to return to work.

“[People should say,] ‘We are not going back to working 70-hour weeks just so that we can put food on the table and not even feel any sort of semblance of security in our lives,'” she said.

She also suggested people would enjoy much greater freedom, if they did not return to work immediately.

Don’t go back to work

“There is a lot we could be doing but, ultimately, when we talk about this idea of ‘reopening society,’ you know, only in America does–when the president tweets about ‘liberation’–does he mean go back to work,” she said.

AOC previously raised eyebrows when she said she “absolutely” loved to see crude oil prices fall due to the CCP Virus lockdown reducing worldwide demand for gasoline.

“This snapshot is being acknowledged as a turning point in the climate movement,” she said on Twitter. “Fossil fuels are in long-term structural decline. This along with low interest rates means it is the right time to create millions of jobs transitioning to renewable and clean energy, a key opportunity.”

The congresswoman also profanely urged those protesting against extreme social distancing measures to tell the president to make “some damn [CCP Virus] tests” instead.

“If you want your freedom, if you want to end the shutdown, then tell your president to make some damn tests and to support some state governments,” she said in an Instagram Live session according to Fox News. “This is outrageous … so, if you want to make sure that we reopen the economy, why don’t you turn around, march on over to 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue and protest this president who is not supporting our governors and making sure that we get the tests, medical equipment, hospital funding, and state and local funding, so that we can all get on with our lives?”
