Brexit leader Nigel Farage during an interview on Monday, June 14, issued harsh words for the English national soccer team’s kneeling for the Black Lives Matter (BLM) movement during the belated UEFA 2020 European Football Championship. He further warned that the BLM movement aims to eradicate Western civilization in the coming years completely.

In an interview with GB News, Farage was asked his thoughts about the England soccer team kneeling in the lead-up to their recent matches. Farage replied, “Look, you cannot separate taking the knee from the Black Lives Matter movement,” referring to the fact that the gesture of kneeling at such sporting events implies collaboration with the BLM movement and acceptance of their grievances and modes of action.

He then went on to say that BLM: “It is an avowedly, openly Marxist organisation that wants to defund the police and wants to bring down the whole of Western civilisation. Don’t take my word for it—just read the website—and you can’t separate the two.”

Farage’s comments are not unfounded. In fact, it is entirely true that its founders are openly avowed “trained Marxists,” and their organization consistently embraces the causes of leftist dictators such as Venezuela’s President Nicolás Maduro and Cuba’s President Miguel Diaz-Canel who followed on from Chavez and Castro, respectively.

Notably, world leaders of countries that have been ruled according to Marxist ideology are blamed for the deaths of some 100 million of their countrymen by violently imposing those ideas.

It is also true that BLM publicly advocates the defunding of police forces as they did throughout 2020 and part of 2021 in the United States by violent protests daily in every major city in the country.

Farage also criticized England coach Gareth Southgate, who also took a knee accompanying the rest of the team.

“When you said this week ‘We are more than soccer.’ No, Mr. Southgate, you are soccer,” Farage asserted. “The idea that it’s OK for the soccer team to be involved with political gestures is wrong, and that’s what the fans are rebelling against.”

Indeed, when England’s national team played a friendly match before the start of the European Championship in early June, they have been booed by spectators who took issue with the political act of kneeling before BLM and its claims, Breitbart reported on June 7.

Meanwhile, Boris Johnson’s government has been comparatively tepid on issues such as “taking a knee,” and over the past few months, even defended the stance on the grounds that “there is nothing wrong with waking up.”

However, Johnson’s stance is not shared by his entire cabinet. Home Affairs Minister Priti Patel, considered by many to be the strongest member of the team, has issued strong criticism of those who choose to kneel and assured GB News that she does not “support people who engage in that kind of political gesture.”

The BLM movement has managed to impose itself as a kind of fashion. Many people support it without making a rational analysis of what it implies, to such an extent that the idea that the “right” thing seems to agree with the movement. A kind of political rift arises between those who are in favor and those who are not. Those who are seen as bad people in favor of racism and discrimination, when this is not necessarily the case.
