About 100 congressional Democrats in the House over the weekend officially requested Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) to include in the stimulus package a full amnesty for illegal aliens.
The group of House Democrats, led by the Congressional Hispanic Caucus, intends to include amnesty for at least 5 million illegal aliens considered “essential workers” who are beneficiaries of Temporary Protected Status (TPS) and Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) programs.
A letter to Pelosi from the Congressional Hispanic Caucus
In a letter sent to Pelosi over the weekend, the group of Democrats stated their intention to include their request in the pandemic relief package, which should be resolved in the coming days.
“As you continue to work on assembling a COVID-19 [CCP Virus] reconciliation package and begin work on an economic recovery and jobs package, we urge you to include a pathway to citizenship for essential immigrant workers, Dreamers, and TPS holders, as well as their families, in order to ensure a robust recovery that is inclusive and equitable for all Americans regardless of their immigration status,” the letter reads.
If the amnesty is accepted, millions of aliens currently residing illegally would automatically become U.S. citizens and would compete in the labor market on equal terms with 18 million Americans currently unemployed.
Raising wages for Americans
This policy goes precisely against the measures implemented by former President Donald Trump, who achieved record employment levels and a historic increase in the wage base of U.S. workers. It has already been amply demonstrated that a tight labor market with reduced foreign competition against Americans, raises wages. The opposite would be true now.
“A path to citizenship for essential undocumented workers would raise the minimum wage and, in turn, benefit all workers beyond the direct beneficiaries,” House Democrats wrote in the letter, which turns out to be as appealing a speech as it is false, because reality proves the opposite.
At the same time, the Biden administration has presented an amnesty plan that would allow nearly the entire illegal alien population, an estimated 11 million to 22 million citizens, to eventually obtain U.S. citizenship.
President Biden’s plan to remove obstacles for illegal aliens
Biden’s plan would also remove any barriers to entry for white-collar workers who can earn a doctorate in science or technology at one of the country’s thousands of colleges and universities, the Post recently reported.
Interestingly, these immigration flexibility policies are being pushed in large part by big Wall Street firms and technology companies. The open borders rule for college graduates is a top priority for universities and investors in technology companies. Universities can gain many new customers, and investors seek windfall profits in the stock market by selling shares of productive, low-cost companies.
Thus, the dark interests of these companies are presented through attractive discourses disguised as social and racial equality, which only aim to generate an unemployed and impoverished population base to allow big business access to cheaper labor.
