Illegal aliens could receive taxpayer money, if the Democratic Party succeeds in changing the eligibility for federal cash assistance to Americans affected by the deadly Asian disease.

House Democrats have proposed the new Leave No Taxpayer Behind Act to include illegal aliens in the list of taxpayers who can receive a stimulus check through the $2 trillion Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act.

Rep. Lou Correa (D-Calif.), Rep. Judy Chu (D-Calif.), Rep. Raúl Grijalva (D-Ariz.), and Rep. Jimmy Panetta (D-Calif.) are some of the many Democrats who cosponsored the proposed legislation. They believe all foreign nationals, who entered and stayed in the United States without permission, should each receive a $1,200 check.

“I was appalled to learn hardworking, taxpaying immigrants were left out of the $2 trillion CARES Act,” the House Homeland Security Subcommittee on Transportation and Maritime Security chair said in a statement. “By casting out immigrants, we are placing some of our most vulnerable residents in grave danger. Every individual taxpayer, irrespective of citizenship status, needs government assistance now.”

Chu, who was formerly President Barack Obama’s secretary of labor, suggested the nation’s only hope of economic recovery is to take care of Americans instead of encouraging them fend for themselves.

“The CARES Act is meant to help our whole economy survive this crisis,” she said. “You cannot do that by excluding entire segments of the population.”

Grijalva, who in 2015 paid $48,000 in compensation after a former staffer complained about his drunk and “hostile workplace,” commended foreigners who violated U.S. immigration laws and even suggested they should be rewarded.

“[Unlawful] immigrants–regardless of their status–are taxpayers who are working in some of the most important jobs keeping our economy running during this difficult time,” he said. “This legislation ensures that immigrants with Individual Taxpayer Identification Numbers (ITINs) can get the economic relief they deserve.”

Panetta revealed a number of illegal aliens in his congressional district have been affected by the nationwide economic shutdown to help contain the CCP Virus.

“The numerous closures of our local businesses during this pandemic will disproportionately affect immigrants on the central coast of California,” he said in a statement. “The [CARES] legislation leaves out coverage for some of those immigrants who pay their taxes and contribute so much to our economy and community. The Leave No Taxpayer Behind Act fixes that glitch by allowing these taxpayers to use their ITIN to get the aid that they need to get through this trying time.”
