A Californian Democrat who wants to become the next vice president described the Trump administration’s move to fill a judiciary vacancy as revolting.

Sen. Kamala Harris (D-Calif.) felt sick to her stomach by the Senate’s decision to vote 52-48 in favor of appointing Amy Coney Barrett as U.S. Supreme Court justice.

“It is despicable and they [Republicans] must be held accountable,” she said on Twitter.

Harris claimed she would much rather try to reach a bipartisan agreement on the next CCP (Chinese Communist Party) Virus stimulus package, even though House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) is clearly unwilling to settle for anything less than the $2.2 trillion package she wants to spend according to the Democratic Party’s wishes.

“Instead of working to provide COVID-19 [CCP Virus] relief to struggling Americans, Mitch McConnell and Republicans chose to jam through a Supreme Court nominee—when more than 62 million people have already voted,” Harris said on Twitter.

Harris even threatened to hold a grudge against the GOP for not yielding to her party’s wishes to postpone appointing a new Supreme Court justice until after the upcoming election on Nov. 3.

“Today Republicans denied the will of the American people by confirming a Supreme Court justice through an illegitimate process—all in their effort to gut the Affordable Care Act and strip health care from millions with pre-existing conditions,” she said on Twitter. “We won’t forget this.”

However, the president maintains he is simply carrying out the job the American people voted him in to do at the last general election.

“The Constitution is the ultimate defense of American liberty [and] the faithful application of the law is the cornerstone of the Republic,” President Donald Trump said according to The Daily Wire. “That is why, as president, I have no more solemn obligation and no greater honor than to appoint Supreme Court justices.”

House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) commended the president on his “excellent choice.”

“Amy Coney Barrett’s commitment to the Constitution makes her an outstanding addition to the Supreme Court,” he said on Twitter. “Congratulations to President Donald Trump for his excellent choice, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell for running a fair process, and Justice Barrett for her incredible achievement.”

Barrett was not moved by recent criticism from Democrats and vowed to not be afraid of performing her new duties.

“I will do my job without any fear or favor,” she said according to The Daily Wire. “I love the Constitution and the democratic republic that it establishes, and I will devote myself to preserving it.”
