A controversial pay television host was diagnosed with the deadly Asian disease shortly after accusing the president of discriminating against people born overseas for calling it an alien ailment.

Chris Cuomo confirmed he has been infected with the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) Virus and is suffering from a variety of known symptoms.

“In these difficult times that seem to get more difficult and complicated by the day, I just found out that I am positive for coronavirus,” the CNN anchor said on Twitter. “I have been exposed to people in recent days who have subsequently tested positive and I had fevers, chills, and shortness of breath.”

Cuomo has relocated to the basement of his home where he will live and work in mandatory isolation.

“I am quarantined in my basement, which actually makes the rest of the family seem pleased,” he said. “I will do my shows from here.”

It is uncertain whether the anchor spread the illness to his wife and children.

“I just hope I did not give it to the kids and Cristina,” he said. “That would make me feel worse than this illness … we will all beat this by being smart and tough, and united.”

The remarks came just weeks after Cuomo joined CNN White House correspondent Jim Acosta in accusing President Donald Trump of prejudice against those who came from abroad for describing the disease as “foreign.”

Acosta, who was kicked out of the White House for being “rude” to the president back in 2018, accused political adviser Stephen Miller of adding his “hard-liner” views on immigration in the March 11 address to the nation.

“Stephen Miller, who is an immigration hard-liner who advises the president, is one of his top domestic advisers and speech writers was a driving force in writing the speech,” he said according to a video uploaded by Breitbart. “I think it is going to come across to a lot of Americans as smacking of xenophobia to use that kind of term in the speech, Chris.”

Cuomo added his commentary on the issue and appeared to support Acosta’s view that the CCP Virus should not be linked to its country of origin.

“[The president] is doing it to put blame somewhere else,” Cuomo said. “In the last four days [House GOP Leader Kevin] McCarthy and others [were] saying the Chinese coronavirus, the Wuhan coronavirus—we get that. It cannot be the main concern right now.”

The president has urged mass media companies to try to unite the nation in the fight against the CCP Virus instead of dividing it over party politics.

“The media should view this as a time of unity and strength,” he said on Twitter. “We have a common enemy, actually, an enemy of the world, the coronavirus. We must beat it as quickly and safely as possible. There is nothing more important to me than the life and safety of the United States.”
