A rap musician, who wants to become the next president of the United States, was almost not born because his parents initially wanted to terminate the pregnancy.
Kanye West would not be running for the Oval Office, if his parents proceeded with plans to abort him while he was still in his mother’s womb.
The independent presidential candidate broke down in tears as he told the harrowing story of how his father almost ended his life before it had even began 43 years ago.
“My dad wanted to abort me [but] my mom saved my life,” he said in a video shared on YouTube. “There would have been no Kanye West because my dad was too busy.”
West could be seen wiping tears from his eyes and repeatedly pacing left and right for about 20 seconds, as the audience showed sympathy by applauding him and telling him that they love him.
“[This is why] I did not want to kill my daughter,” he said after calming down.
The candidate believes laws created by people are not the same as the laws of heaven, and questioned the morality of legalized abortion procedures.
“[Some people say] abortion should be legal because guess what? The law is not by God anyway, so what is legality?” he said according to Reuters. “The only thing that can free us is by obeying the [divine] rules that were given to us for a promised land.”
He also recalled meeting several middle-aged couples who chose not to establish a family and felt sad that they never experienced the joys of parenthood.
“I know people who are 50 years old that did not have children that did not have a child that never had the experience, the level of joy that I experienced having a child,” he said. “Even if my wife were to divorce me after this speech, she brought a girl into the world.”
He does not expect the 2020 general election will decide the nation’s opinion on how to handle African Americans who die in police custody.
“Freedom does not come from an election,” he said. “The freedom comes from you not loading up the pornography. The freedom comes from you not taking the Percocet [pain relief medication.]”
He also rejected any suggestion that historical abolitionist Harriet Tubman ended slavery in the United States.
“Harriet Tubman never actually freed the slaves,” he said. “She just had the slaves work for other white people.”
