President Trump’s re-election campaign on Tuesday, July 21, raked in $20 million in its first virtual fundraiser.

The fundraiser, which was hosted by the president’s eldest son, Donald Trump Jr., and Trump Victory Finance Committee National Chairwoman Kimberly Guilfoyle, attracted more than 300,000 individual donors.

“Trump Victory’s groundbreaking fundraising record proves the American people are passionate about gaining four more years under President Trump’s strong leadership. Across the nation, the silent majority are coming together to donate their valuable time and hard-earned money to help make this President’s re-election a reality,” Guilfoyle said in a statement.

“The most important measure of success in this race is enthusiasm, and the enthusiasm from President Trump’s supporters cannot be matched,” she added.

The main message was about the president rebuilding the economy, according to the Axios. The event featured special appearances of White House chief of staff Mark Meadows and Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin. It also included other topics such as the military, school choice, and violence in cities.

“Huge event by @realDonaldTrump and great work by @kimguilfoyle to put it together,” Trump campaign’s Director of Communications Tim Murtaugh tweeted. “$20 million raised from 300,000 donors. There is no mistaking that grassroots enthusiasm is with President Trump.”

The success comes as Joe Biden, the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee, is said to be leading the president in several national polls. Though Biden has cut the gap in cash on hand with the president in the second quarter of the year, the Trump campaign’s eye-popping figure significantly outpaces the haul of any of Biden’s virtual fundraisers.

The Trump campaign has had a recent shake up as it barrels toward Election Day. President Trump replaced longtime Campaign Manager Brad Parscale with Bill Stepien, a former White House political director and top aide on his 2016 campaign.
