An elected official responsible for ensuring the Democratic Party passes legislation in the House confessed to postponing financial relief from reaching pandemic-affected Americans.
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) has admitted she deliberately delayed CCP (Chinese Communist Party) Virus stimulus packages in Congress because of party politics.
The Democrat openly revealed she thought it would be a good idea to let businesses and workers struggle to survive during government restrictions intended to help contain the deadly disease.
“What was then before was not more of this,” she said in a video shared on Facebook. “This has simplicity, it’s what we had in our bills, it’s for a shorter period of time but that’s okay now because we have a new president.”
Pelosi recently accused the White House of negligence even though she has been unwilling to settle for anything less than the $2.2 trillion package she wants to spend according to the Democratic Party’s wishes.
Pelosi also suggested the Trump administration thought the pandemic did not exist, even though she referenced remarks from President Donald Trump that were actually about the Democratic Party-led impeachment inquiry.
“From ‘hoax’ to hundreds of thousands dead, the White House has failed miserably—not by accident but by decision,” she said in a statement. “Now we know why they resisted science at the expense of lives, livelihoods, and the life of our democracy. Again, it was a decision to do so.”
She rejected criticism from reporters about the Democratic Party’s failure to deliver stimulus packages in a timely manner.
“Do not characterize what we did before as a mistake, as a preface to your question if you want an answer,” she said on the Facebook video. “That was not a mistake. It was a decision, and it has taken us to a place where we can do the right thing without other, shall we say, considerations in the legislation that we do not want. Now that is it.”
Instead of accepting blame for repeatedly ordering House Democrats to block previous stimulus packages, Pelosi decided to congratulate her fellow party members for a job well done.
“The fact is I am very proud of where we are.”
She added, “My chairs have worked very hard on this. They were not even happy with a proposal we made the other day—before we saw this proposal—they thought we had come back too small.”
