An elected official that used to be responsible for ensuring the Republican Party passes legislation in the House has directed the president to cease disputing the election result and admit he lost.

Former House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) has ordered President Donald Trump to end his legal challenge about the presidential race outcome immediately.

Ryan declared the election was finished. The result was undeniable, even though the outcome of the Trump 2020 campaign’s legal action is undecided and could even succeed in giving the incumbent another four years in the Oval Office.

“The election is over, the outcome is certain,” he told the Bank of America’s virtual European credit conference, according to Politico. “These legal challenges to the outcome and the attacks on our voting system really need to stop, in my opinion. The outcome will not be changed, and it will only serve to undermine our faith in our system of government, our faith in our democracy.”

Ryan decided to announce the outcome of the presidential election himself, even though this would normally be the job of the General Services Administration or Federal Election Commission.

“The General Services Administration ascertained the election, and that sounds kind of technical [but] it is really, actually frankly, pretty important because that allows the official transition to actually occur so that president-elect Biden–and Joe Biden is the president-elect,” he said.

He believes the nation should focus on appointing the new Biden administration instead of worrying about who won.

“Joe Biden, the president-elect, can actually plan his transition, get the security background checks for his people, get the process going where he can be ready to populate his Cabinet and the lower positions in the administration,” he said.

He then took the rare step of openly praising Biden’s character as decent, kind, and trustworthy even though they are supposed to be political rivals.

“Joe Biden knows how to work in divided government, he is a good guy, he is a very nice person, he keeps his word,” Ryan said. “He is not a disagreeable human being … he does put deals together, and that will be made much, much easier for him to operate like that and bring sides together if we truly have divided government.”

Ryan then revealed he was close to Biden and felt sorry about the Democrat losing previous elections.

“I know him, I know firsthand what it is like to lose a national election, and it is a terrible feeling–it is not pleasant,” Ryan said.
