Former Vice President Joe Biden officially announced his presidential campaign for 2020 on Thursday in a video posted on Twitter and Youtube.

Biden cited the riots of August 2017 as his primary motivation to run against Trump in a three-and – a-half minute YouTube video, presenting a version of events that even a CNN contributor has declared fraudulent.

In the video, Biden endorsed and even went as far as to call them “courageous” the far-left terror group Antifa, adding that comparing them to white nationalist groups is wrong.

In his video, Biden took the opportunity to talk about the white nationalist rally in Charlottesville, Va., and described the white nationalists as “crazed faces, illuminated by torches, veins bulging and baring the fangs of racism.”

But when it came to describing the violent members of Antifa who were also at the rally, Biden referred to them as a courageous group of Americans.”

“A violent clash ensued, and a brave young woman lost her life,” Biden continued in the video. “And that’s when we heard the words of the president of the United States that stunned the world and shocked the conscience of this nation.”

Here’s the Daily Caller reported:

People on both sides of the clash engaged in brutal violence that night. The young woman Biden refers to was Heather Heyer, who was killed when a neo-Nazi plowed into a group of protesters with his car. Antifa members showed up armed with mace, a battering ram and clubs, which they used in order to try to break through a line of white nationalists with riot shields lining the entrance to the rally.

At rallies in D.C. last year, an Antifa protester repeatedly punched a man in the face, and others threw water bottles and launched fireworks at police officers. (RELATED: Five Times The Establishment Media Excused Antifa Violence)

They started fires with Molotov cocktails during a protest of a planned Milo Yiannopoulos event at Berkeley. More recently, Antifa members showed up at Tucker Carlson’s house and hurled threats, while one of them slammed into his front door.

President Trump welcomed Joe Biden to the race for president, but warned that the race “will be nasty” and Biden would be “dealing with people who truly have some very sick & demented ideas. But if you make it, I will see you at the Starting Gate!”

“Welcome to the race Sleepy Joe. I only hope you have the intelligence, long in doubt, to wage a successful primary campaign. It will be nasty – you will be dealing with people who truly have some very sick & demented ideas. But if you make it, I will see you at the Starting Gate!” the President tweeted.
