Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas), loyal to President Trump and in line with his words, rejected the electoral certification arguing scandalous cases of electoral fraud during the presidential elections. But at the same time he strongly rejected the violence on Capitol Hill and called for justice to be done by clarifying the facts.
After yesterday’s violence with the seizure of the U.S. Capitol, and considering the recent allegations of leftist infiltrators belonging to radical groups such as Black Lives Matter and antifa, Cruz spoke out against all acts of violence and assured a “peaceful and orderly transition of power.”
“The attack at the Capitol was a despicable act of terrorism and a shocking assault on our democratic system. The Department of Justice should vigorously prosecute everyone who was involved in these brazen acts of violence,” Cruz said in an official statement from his website.
He added, “Millions of Americans who have peacefully expressed their deep concerns regarding election integrity deserve to have their voices heard,” and he reported that they have already called for an election commission “to give Americans confidence in this past and upcoming elections.”

Cruz, prior to the conflicts yesterday, had spearheaded a request to delay certification for 10 days, in order to allow more time for the investigation of the alleged fraud acts during the November presidential election. The request was rejected by Vice President Pence himself.
In addition, Cruz was one of the few senators who objected to the results in Arizona and Pennsylvania.
President Trump also issued a statement after the results were certified, committing himself to a peaceful transition.
Using the account of his Director of Social Media Dan Scavino, as his personal Twitter and Facebook accounts were blocked, President Trump issued a statement in which he rejected the certification of the election results but guaranteed an orderly transition of power.
““Even though I totally disagree with the outcome of the election, and the facts bear me out, nevertheless there will be an orderly transition on January 20th. I have always said we would continue our fight to ensure that only legal votes were counted. While this represents the end of the greatest first term in presidential history, it’s only the beginning of our fight to Make America Great Again!”

President Trump has been betrayed by many people he trusted, starting with Vice President Pence who had the opportunity to make history by canceling the election certification and at the last minute proved not to be brave enough, betraying not only President Trump but all Americans who still believe in democracy, justice, and the traditional values planted by the founding fathers.
