Several Democratic campaign officials expressed alarm at the increased popularity of the Republican Party in key Miami-Dade County, the largest county in Florida.

The Republicans’ lead was more than 6,500 votes, as of Oct. 30, and Democrats reason they are slipping because of neglect and a lack of budget, according to Politico on Oct. 29.

“I shouted. I shouted. I called. We didn’t get the funding for different vendors who would do that kind of work [going house to house] until the end of the campaign,” lamented Rep. Frederica Wilson (D-Fla.), who represents a district with large African American participation.

In Miami-Dade, 152,964 registered Republican voters had already voted, while Democratic voters reached 146,371 according to data from Oct. 29.

This Democratic voting rate is even lower than the one registered in 2016, when Hillary Clinton lost the state and nationwide.

The segment of voters that Democrats are most concerned about are young black voters and less reliable Democratic voters.

Consistent with this observation, the number of African American Republicans who have already voted also surpassed that of Democrats, Fox News reported.

“We are seeing some gaps in the participation of young black voters,” said Black PAC Executive Director Adrianne Shropshire.

She added, “The five counties with the highest number of black voters are underperforming. This difference is as high as five points in Miami-Dade County.

Miami Democratic State Sen. Oscar Braynon also expressed his disappointment.

“There is not the participation here in the black community that I have seen in the past. I can speculate on the reasons, but the fact remains that it’s a concern.

According to Rasmussen’s Oct. 26 poll results, African American voting intentions had unexpectedly skyrocketed to 46 percent, which could be reflected in the Miami-Dade vote so far.

This would be good news for President Donald Trump, for whom 9 percent of the African American vote was enough for him to be elected president in his first term.

President Trump, in addition to working for all Americans, has dedicated many efforts to improving the lives of African American communities.

In one of his most recent tweets he recalled the creation of the Platinum Plan, which will create 3 million jobs for African Americans.

“I reversed the injustice of Biden’s crime bill by signing the historic criminal justice reform bill. And under our recently announced Platinum Plan, we will create 3 million new jobs for black Americans,” wrote President Trump.
