Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio), one of the congressional speakers at the first night of the Republican National Convention, highlighted the work of the president and his firm and concerned stance toward the people.
Jordan presented President Trump as the Republican candidate to run for president and he emphasized, “The Republican Party is the Pro-American Party” and “President Trump is the pro-American candidate.”
As noted by the Washington Examiner, Jordan said the president was keeping his 2016 campaign promises in the face of record of attacks he has received from the Democrats and the investigations against him.
“They tried the Russia hoax, the Mueller investigation, and the fake impeachment,” Jordan said. “But in spite of this unbelievable opposition, this president has done what he said he would do—taxes cut, regulations reduced, economy growing, lowest unemployment in 50 years, out of the Iran deal, embassy in Jerusalem, hostages home from North Korea, a new USMCA agreement, and of course, he’s building the wall and rebuilding our economy as we speak,” he added.
“I love the president’s intensity and his willingness to fight every day in Washington for our families,” Jordan added.
Jordan, who also wanted to highlight the president’s more human side, recounted a difficult episode for him and his family when they had to deal with the death of his nephew, who died in a car accident.
Jordan said in his anecdote that the day he went to show his condolences for the death of his nephew Eli, the president contacted him and asked him to contact the parents of the deceased to whom he offered a voice of encouragement amid the pain. “That’s the president I know,” Jordan said.
The speech given by Jordan questioned the policies of the Democrats, especially in the last few months in view of the different events that have taken place in the United States amid the CCP Virus lockdown.
“Look at the positions they have taken in the past few months,” Jordan continued. “Democrats won’t let you go to church but will let you protest. Democrats won’t let you go to work but they’ll let you riot. Democrats won’t let you go to school but they’ll let you go loot.”
“This election is about who can preserve the values, principles, and institutions that make America great,” Jordan said. “Don’t you believe me? Look at what is happening in American cities, cities won by the Democrats. Crime, violence, the mafia rules.
Jordan added that President Trump “has taken on the swamp, all of the swamp, the Democrats, the press, and the never-Trumpers. And when you take on the swamp, the swamp fights back.”
