In a video posted online Thursday, Nigel Farage, Britain’s Brexit leader, has urged citizens to boycott products made in China to “stop the rise of this horrible communist regime.”

Farage made the statements Thursday after New Zealand’s foreign minister rejected calls from leaders of the Five Eyes grouping (Australia, the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom) to take concrete action to truly challenge the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), as the association intends to do.

The request from New Zealand’s allies in the Five Eyes grouping came after Chancellor Nanaia Mahuta said this week: “We are not comfortable with broadening the scope of the Five Eyes relationship.”

Farage added to the criticism against New Zealand and claimed with disappointment that it was “Launching a new close alliance with China and they are effectively abandoning the Five Eyes intelligence network.”

“We have just lost one of our closest and oldest allies in the world because they are completely in the hands of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). New Zealand sold their souls to communist China and why? Well, because lots of their exports go there. And it is just the worst example yet of what China is doing to our world, to our allies,” he added.

He also warned that Britain is not safe and reminded his listeners that while Prime Minister Boris Johnson has had some anti-China attitudes, he also initially backed the use of Huawei in the rollout of its 5G network in Jan. 2020. Only pressure from Five Eyes allies and British MPs had the government announce a ban on Huawei equipment in 5G networks by 2027.

“Remember Boris Johnson wanted to sign up to Huawei, Boris Johnson calls himself a Sinophile,” Farage said.

Farage also said it would take more than a government to prevent the CCP from becoming the world’s biggest superpower, urging Britons to boycott Chinese-made products whenever they can.

“At the end of the day, China’s going to become the most powerful and by far the most dangerous country in the world if they continue to get richer and richer,” the Brexit leader asserted, going on to say:

“And they will continue to get richer and richer if you go on buying the amount of Chinese products you currently are. It’s not easy but if you want to stop the rise of this horrible, communist regime, do your best to buy fewer Chinese products.”

This was not the only time Farage urged his followers to boycott Chinese products. In April 2020, at the height of the upheaval over the CCP Virus, he made the same request, warning that individual action is needed to stop the growing hegemony of the CCP, should politicians in the West fail.

Farage said at the time, “In the final analysis, it is not governments that do business, but individuals making their own choices with their money.”

He also assured that he would not knowingly buy Chinese products and that if millions would follow him, it could see the end of China’s dictatorial regime.
