Nearly two full days after the explosive New York Post report on his son’s overseas business dealings broke, Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden finally confronted a reporter who asked him about the issue.
“Mr. Biden, what is your response to the New York Post story about your son, sir?” CBS News’s Bo Erickson asked Biden outside of his private jet on Friday, Oct. 16 following his Michigan campaign events.
Biden refused to respond to the report explicitly. He went after the reporter instead.
“I know you’d ask it. I have no response. It’s another smear campaign, right up your alley, those are the questions you always ask,” Biden said.

Drip, drip, drip.

The Post published the story on Wednesday, claiming Hunter Biden introduced Vadym Pozharskyi, an adviser to Burisma, to then-Vice President Biden. Biden was the point man of U.S. policy for Ukraine at the time. Burisma reportedly paid Hunter $50,000 each month.
The Biden campaign has denied that the former vice president ever met Pozharskyi officially, but it has not denied he ever met the man.
Other emails obtained by the Post exposed business dealings in China, where Hunter Biden was allegedly involved.
A recipient of the Hunter Biden emails has verified the messages, which appear to detail a payout for Joe Biden as part of a deal with a Chinese energy firm, according to Fox News.
“One email, dated May 13, 2017, and obtained by Fox News, includes a discussion of ‘remuneration packages’ for six people in a business deal with a Chinese energy firm. The email appeared to identify Biden as ‘Chair/Vice Chair depending on [the] agreement with CEFC,’ in an apparent reference to now-bankrupt CEFC China Energy Co,’” Fox News reported.
“The email includes a note that ‘Hunter has some office expectations he will elaborate.’ A proposed equity split references ’20’ for ‘H’ and ’10 held by H for the big guy?’ with no further details.” Fox News spoke to one of the people copied on the email, who confirmed its authenticity.
Multiple sources reportedly told Fox News that “the big guy” was a reference to Joe Biden.
The former vice president has repeatedly said that I have “never spoken to my son about his overseas business dealings.”
