Presidential candidate Joe Biden said on Tuesday, July 16, that if Donald Trump questions his physical or mental abilities at the 2020 debate stage, he would challenge the president to a push-up contest on-air.

Biden appeared on “Morning Joe” for a Tuesday interview with co-host Mika Brzezinski, and being asked what he’ll do if Trump raises the issue of Biden’s age.

“I would say, come on Donald, come on, man. How many push-ups do you want to do here, pal? I mean jokingly,” Biden said.

“You know, come on, run with me, man. It’s like I was in a parade in Independence, Missouri. And I always run in parades … and a fellow from Independence who was a Trump supporter said, ‘Hey sleepy Joe!’ I said, come run with me, Jack. Come on man!”

In March 2018, the former vice president told a crowd at the University of Miami in Coral Gables, Florida, “If we were in high school, I’d take [Trump] behind the gym and beat the hell out of him.”

But Fox News’s Sean Hannity had an immediate response to Joe Biden regarding to a push-up contest, saying, “I’ll take you up on that challenge.”

Hannity explained that Trump has been too busy with fixing changes made when Biden served with then-President Barack Obama.

“Joe, the president is busy cleaning up the mess you left,” he said.

“You name the time and the place. I’m ready. I don’t even need to practice, I train every day,” Hannity added.
