Former acting Director of the United States National Intelligence Richard Grenell on Thursday, Sept. 24, mocked Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden after he announced a “lid” on activities for the day early in the morning, even as the November election looms closer.

“Biden isn’t campaigning. Has he given up?” Grenell asked.

The Biden campaign called for a lid meaning there will be no further availability or public statements that day for reporters, shortly after 9 a.m. on Thursday.

According to Daily Caller, the Biden campaign calls for a lid before noon on a regular basis—at least 8 times this month by the time of this report.

Biden told reporters on Wednesday, “I’ve started to prepare but I haven’t gotten into it really heavily. I will beginning tomorrow,” according to The Hill.

President Donald Trump ridiculed the former vice president, who has faced questions about his stamina and mental acuity, for not holding any public events, calling him as “a very low energy individual.”

“Sleepy Joe Biden just closed down his campaign for the day (Again),” President Trump tweeted. “Wants to rest! He is a very LOW ENERGY INDIVIDUAL, and our Country cannot make it in these exciting, but complex and competitive times, with a Low Energy President !!!”

President Trump and Biden are set to debate Tuesday, Sept. 29. During a rally in Jacksonville, Florida on Thursday, the president said Biden will “do fine” at their first debate because his team will give him a “shot of something” before he comes on stage.

“Biden will do fine,” President Trump told his supporters. “He’s been doing it for 47 years. They’ll give him a big shot of something before he has to go out there, he’ll be full of energy. He’ll be fine.”
