On Thursday, Sept. 12, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez fired back at Republican Congressional candidate Elizabeth Heng after Heng aired an ad that denounced AOC’s menacing socialist policies.

Elizabeth Heng is a Cambodian American who founded the Political Action Committee known as “New Faces GOP.”

Heng narrates in her video: “This is the face of socialism and ignorance.”

“Does Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez know the horrors of socialism?” Heng continues: “My father was minutes from death in Cambodia before a forced marriage saved his life. That’s socialism: Forced obedience. Starvation. Mine is a face of freedom. My skin is not white. I’m not outrageous, racist, nor socialist. I’m a Republican.”

“My parents lived through the torment and devastation caused by the evils of socialism, and I refuse to just stand idly by as progressive socialist leaders in Congress, the mainstream media, and Silicon Valley mock our generation and destroy American principles, under the guise of “progressivism.” Heng narrates. “As a woman, a minority, and a conservative millennial, I am a fresh new face for the Republican Party and someone who will stand up to socialism in America.”

AOC was quick to spit back on Twitter.

“Republicans are running TV ads setting pictures of me on fire to convince people they aren’t racist. Life is weird!” Ocasio-Cortez ranted on Twitter. “Know that this wasn’t an ad for young conservatives of color—that was the pretense,” she wrote. “What you just watched was a love letter to the GOP’s white supremacist case.”

Heng had the perfect comeback ready.

“Not Republicans. Me. Are you really calling me a racist @aoc? I’m calling all Democrats out for supporting an evil ideology. Or are you just in Congress to hang out with celebrities and tweet out ridiculous ideas like the green new deal?” Heng tweeted.

This is not the first time that AOC has resorted to using the “race card” in response to remarks she dislikes, however.

In July, Rep. William Lacy Clay (D-Mo.) criticized Ocasio-Cortez for “using the race card” after she accused Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) of being racially insensitive.

Ocasio-Cortez accused Pelosi of singling her and her “squad” of fellow freshman because of their “race,” according to Fox News.

“What a weak argument, because you can’t get your way and because you’re getting pushback you resort to using the race card? Unbelievable. That’s unbelievable to me,” Clay said. I could care less. I could really care less. I agree with the Speaker. Four people, four votes out of 240 people, who cares.”

“It tells you the level of ignorance to American history on their part as to what we are as the Democratic Caucus,” Pelosi said.
