Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.), announced the creation of a commission to further investigate the events that took place in the Capitol on Jan. 6, after the failed impeachment trial she pushed against former President Donald Trump for the same events.
Pelosi called what happened a “domestic terrorist attack” and said the commission would be similar to the one that investigated the attacks of Sep. 11, 2001, in which thousands of people died, according to The Daily Beast of Feb. 15.
Democrats are accusing Trump of inciting violence during the peaceful demonstration he called on Jan. 6 in search of electoral integrity.
Based on those accusations, they hastily mounted a trial that found Trump innocent of those charges, sparking Pelosi’s fury and two days later she set up this high-level investigation.
Predictably, by mentioning a “domestic terrorist attack,” Pelosi will consolidate and put in play a series of coercive measures initiated since last year and strengthened on Jan. 6.
Democrats in both the House and Senate repackaged legislation that had already been introduced in 2020 to ban President Trump’s MAGA demonstrations and classify them as “domestic terrorism.”
Given that the MAGA movement constitutes the largest political force opposing the Democrats, the action is interpreted as an act of criminalization of the opposition, in the best communist style.
Journalist and writer Paul Sperry wrote on his Twitter account on Jan. 10, “DEVELOPING: Democrats in both the House and Senate are planning to draft legislation to classify MAGA rallies as ‘domestic terrorist activity’ and require the FBI, DOJ & DHS to take steps to prevent such ‘domestic terrorism.’ Sen. Durbin is leading effort along with Rep Schneider.”

Along these lines, Democrats introduced a controversial bill that reportedly threatens to replace civil liberties, called the Domestic Terrorism Prevention Act of 2021 (DTPA).
For author Robert Wheeler: “The #DTPA is essentially the criminalization of speech, expression, and thought. It takes cancel culture a step further and all but outlaws unpopular opinions,” he wrote on Jan. 27 on The Organic Prepper website.
He added, “This law will empower intelligence services, law enforcement, and even the military wings of the U.S. establishment to crack down on people who adhere to certain belief systems and ideologies.”
The apparent “hunt for domestic terrorists,” already seems to have been set in motion, given that the FBI raided homes of Trump supporters, without a clear reason, because they did not participate in the Jan. 6 demonstration, which could have been a cause.
“BREAKING: FBI raiding homes of Trump supporters who were not inside Capitol, inclg DEA agent who had gun & credentials confiscated,” wrote investigative journalist Paul Sperry of the New York Post in a Feb. 6 tweet.
He added, “But most case files read: “Interviewed, participated in 1st A activities, closed.” Same scrutiny not applied to Antifa/BLM agitators who were there,” referring to the riots that occurred on Capitol Hill on Jan. 6.

Likewise, other citizens also expressed concern about how the law could be used.
“Be very concerned. US is disappearing as a free country,” tweeted netizen @AlistairNic alluding to the DTPA on Jan. 30.

In the face of the growing strength of the political force embodied by Trump, the commission announced by Pelosi suggests an escalation of the crackdown against him.
