The U.S. Special Operations Command (SOCOM) have employed an individual who shared anti-Trump memes on his Facebook, one of which comparing the ex-president to Adolf Hitler, as its first director of equality and diversity.

Richard Torres-Estrada was hired by SOCOM on Thursday, March 25, according to a post on SOCOM’s Twitter.

Following his hiring, some of Torres-Estrada’s social media posts started to circulate.

On June 2, 2020, Torres-Facebook Estrada’s accounts posted the following: “Here I leave this and slowly retire (to continue working from home)…” next to a picture of Hitler, and a meme of then-President Donald Trump carrying a scripture in front of the St. John’s Episcopal Church since Black Lives Matter demonstrators went to it.

He wrote in the caption, “I just have to post this.”

On July 8, 2020, Torres-Estrada shared yet another anti-Trump meme, this time featuring quotes by his former advisers condemning him.

Most recently, he shared a meme criticizing Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) on February 19, 2021.

On Friday afternoon, Breitbart News contacted a spokesperson for SOCOM, asking, “Does SOCOM have a statement on why he was hired at SOCOM to be the diversity and inclusion chief when his posts could be seen as partisan, and concerning for members of the military and SOCOM community who supported Trump?”

The representative replied that SOCOM is aware of the allegations and it is investigating them right now.

Joe Kent, a former U.S. Army Special Forces chief warrant officer with more than 20 years of experience in special forces units, slammed Torres-Estrada’s posts.

“Looks like the new diversity officer loves celebrating diversity with those who agree with him. Here is what he thinks of the rest of us, Mr. Torres-Estrada was not placed in US Special Operations command by mistake,” Kent wrote in his tweet.

“The left is not hiding the fact that they are in control & have the power to cleanse the ranks of those who do not submit…,” Kent wrote, adding that Torres-Estrada is “one of the reasons you see a lot of woke tweeting from senior military officials. They’re swearing allegiance to the new order and purging themselves of the old.”

Kent continued, “Special ops leans heavily right, that’s why Biden’s team put such an outspoken monitor in SOCCOM & is not having him tidy up his social media, it’s a not so subtle warning.” Regardless of the political party is in power, Special Operations serves our country honorably.

Mike Egan, a former Trump administration aide and fellow Green Beret, also weighs in on Torres-partisan Estrada’s messages, tweeting, “#SOF is a meritocracy. Anything short undermines their effectiveness,”

He continued, “To add insult to injury the Woke DOD is filling this needless role with this [clown] who’s most relevant experience is with a perpetually unreliable public transit system,” in reference toTorres-Estrada’s previous employment with the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority previously (WMATA).
