It was in 1998, Azita Milanian was out jogging with her dogs along the hiking trail in Altadena, California. Suddenly, one of her dogs acted strangely and began to sniff along the ground.

The dog led Azita to an area where she thought she might find a small animal. But as she looked closer, she was stunned. There were two little feet rising above the ground.

The California woman immediately began to dig into the ground to free the child, hoping it was alive.

Azita didn’t have any reception on her cellphone and wasn’t able to call 911. She held the baby and ran to the nearest road asking for help.

A driver stopped and quickly drove them to the nearest police station. There, Azita gently washed the child, Matthew, and comforted him.

“He grabbed my wrist and stopped crying. It was very emotional,” recalled Azita.

Matthew then was treated and adopted by a wonderful family. His biological mother was never found and arrested.

Time flies. Twenty years had passed by since the last time Azita held Matthew in her arm. But somehow, the two could not keep in touch. When Matthew’s godmother told him the truth, he decided to look for his rescuing angel and thank her.

Finally, celebrity Ryan Seacrest helped Matthew meet Azita. He invited them both to his studio and filmed their reunion.

Azita was emotional. She said she had been waiting for 20 years to meet him.

“You’re exactly what I’ve imagined. I guessed right on your size, everything. Thank you for coming into my life, you changed it. I knew we would meet again. The day I met him, he confirmed my faith. God brought us together for a greater purpose.”

Azita could have ignored her dog and continued to jog. But she did not and saved a life.
