To superstar Timothy Richard Tebow, a birthday is not about celebrating for oneself, it’s about giving back to society and helping people in need. And this year is no exception.

On Aug. 14, Tebow turned 32. Three days earlier, he and the Tim Tebow Foundation decided to create a challenge and raise money for 150 lifesaving surgeries for Filipino children.

The kind American professional baseball player created a fundraiser on Facebook, hoping that his fans and supporters would make his birthday wish come true.

During his birthday, Tebow posted a video, sharing that the total donation reached $175,000, which surpassed the fundraiser goal of $150,000 for 150 surgeries. One generous person even decided to donate $50,000.

Even after his birthday, more and more people kept contributing.

“We [are] still just blown away by the support of Timmy’s 32nd birthday this past week,” Tebow said in a post. “YOUR support is going to bring healing to more [than] 200 kids!

“Children that have been mocked made fun of or seen as outcasts in their community and villages, all because they didn’t receive the medical care they needed, will now have a future filled with Faith, Hope & Love.”

And to thank everyone for all the donations, the Tim Tebow Foundation shared a video of the children who benefitted.

“These children are WORTH IT. When we share Faith, Hope & Love and they see for the first time their worth, amazing things happen…” – Tim Tebow.
