Thanksgiving is the season of thanks. But not all of us have someone to give thanks with, or a home in which to celebrate. Oakland rapper, businessman, and philanthropist Stanley Cox, much better known as Mistah F.A.B., hosted his 14th annual Thanksgiving event on Tuesday, Nov. 26.
Mistah F.A.B. hosted a Thanksgiving meal in West Oakland, California. Hundreds of people on hard times got a taste of a hot turkey lunch, a frozen turkey to go, and even a warm coat for those who could use one, KTVU reported.
Mistah F.A.B. and his sister, Theresa Anderson, take compliments of community with its annual free Thanksgiving for those in need.
The rap star said he understands people in need. He was once one of them himself.
A woman, who has been homeless for the past three years, said she appreciates what Mistah F.A.B. is doing for the community, according to KTVU.
“Without these type of people we’d be way worse off than what we are. I thank God every day for this type of stuff,” said Cheryl Workman.
Mistah F.A.B. is hoping others will be inspired to help however they can.
“It’s a blessing to be a blessing,” he said. “We’re just here on the front lines with those who are having a hard time providing for themselves.”
