Three New York police officers stepped in to help clear snow at the home of a 99-year-old resident in Albany on Monday, Dec. 2.

The Albany Police Department posted photos of Officers William Pierce, Christopher Stiles and John Schueler clearing the woman’s sidewalk and driveway in a post on their Facebook page.

On Monday morning, the elderly woman called the Albany Police Center Station for help after more than a foot of snow fell at her house.

The officers responded and helped clear a path without hesitation.

The Facebook post has gone viral and received a lot of positive comments about police officers’ acts of kindness.

“This is so awesome. Clearing snow is not in their job description. Thank you officers for once again going above and beyond your duties. Lots of love please stay safe,” one Facebook user wrote.

“Great job guys. You really believe in community. That’s why you picked such a special job. Stay safe,” another said.
