A 9-year-old girl in Michigan is spreading joy to other children by giving them a new set of wheels this Christmas.

Piper Shumar started collecting cans to help buy bicycles for those who could not afford them, WPBN reported.

She began the tradition of donating bikes to the “Bikes for Tikes” campaign last year when she donated two bicycles.

Piper set an initial goal of donating 10 bikes this year.  But with help from the community, she collected more than 50,000 cans, enough to buy a total of 130 bicycles and then donate them to the charity.

Piper and several volunteers took the time to assemble the 130 bicycles she purchased, along with an additional 110 bikes to be donated to children in need around Northern Michigan.

Next year, the little girl plans on collecting enough cans to get enough money to purchase 200 bicycles, according to the Piper’s Project Facebook page.
