Following her husband’s death, Mette Kvam lives alone in a mountain home in Aurland, Norway.

She was alone every day of her life. Then something remarkable happened one day when Mette began to notice that one particular deer visited her home daily.

“Flippen,” a wild deer, pops up on her doorstep twice a day looking for food, according to Inside Edition.

The bond began in 2014 when Kvam noticed the stag in her yard and offered him a cookie. Instead of being frightened, the deer hesitantly accepted the snack.

Flippen has been a daily visitor for the past three years. He lets Kvam touch his head a little in exchange for the goodies.

As Animal Channel reported, one day, Britt Haugsevje Vangen was walking through the mountains, and she noticed the connection between the two. She quickly grabbed her camera and began capturing their unique relationship.

“She says that they are so lucky for having each other,” Vangen told Caters News. “Mette has no kids and since her husband passed away she has no one―she only has Flippen in her life now.”

Kvam is no longer lonely now that she has a lovely friend. So her days of feeling lonely are now over. He’s even sometimes spotted sleeping outside her home.

“It seems like they are best friends,” Vangen added. “The hunters in the area have decided not to shoot him because of their friendship.”
