A viral video captured the sound of joy when 4-month-old Georgina’s hearing aid is turned on.
At the beginning of the video, her mother says, “OK, so we’ve just turned your hearing on. Can you say hello to everybody?”
The baby’s response is immediate and heart-melting. Georgina enthusiastically squeals her own long, high-pitched “hi”. The hearing aids were seen in her tiny ears when she turned her head.
Georgina’s dad, Paul Addison, from Harrogate, England posted the viral video on Twitter with the caption, “When our daughter’s new hearing aids are turned on in the morning.”
The video has been viewed more than 1 million times. Many parents commented that they have had similar experiences with their own children.
“So happy for you and your sweet little one that her hearing aids have introduced her to the sound of your voice and hers! Tell her she can be anything she wants to be … just like our Sophie,” one person wrote.
“My son didn’t get his hearing aids till he was 5, but when he was a baby this is exactly the noises he used to make, because it was the only way he could hear himself,” another said.
Through his video on social media, Addison said it has been heartwarming to know about other families and their experiences. He said he has been able to see how other children have been performing at various stages of their lives and that has created hope for his family.
