Children are the joy of every family. Taking care of a newborn child with basic knowledge and undeveloped skills is a big challenge for first-time parents. Infants are almost entirely dependent on adults. In addition to daily routines like drinking milk and personal hygiene, new parents often find it difficult to deal with when their children feel uncomfortable, are sick, or encounter incidents for the first time. It can be terrifying being responsible for such a small, fragile life when there is no one to call on for help.

First-time parents will feel confused, even scared, and don’t know what to do, so they can only ask for help from other experienced people.

Olivia had such an incident at just 9-days old.

Her parents sensed something was wrong with Olivia, but after trying many of the usual treatments, her condition still did not improve. Her parents decided to take her to the hospital.

On the way to the hospital, Olivia’s mother noticed something was wrong with Olivia. She said to her husband that their daughter was not breathing, had stopped breathing. The situation became perilous.

When he stopped at a red light, Olivia’s father saw some police officers, including Mitrisin, in the next lane, and he rushed to her for help.

“It is amazing how she was able to stay calm and she knew what to do it,” Olivia’s father said.

Immediately, Mitrisin began performing chest compressions on Olivia. She remained calm and focused throughout the ordeal, determined Olivia would not die.

Olivia was then taken to Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh by paramedics. Soon the most welcome crying ever was heard at the hospital. It was Olivia’s crying. She had a heart condition that caused her to stop breathing, which doctors discovered.

Despite the fact that she will require surgery to fix the problem, she has been given a second chance at life thanks to her father, mother, Officer Mitrisin, and kind people.
