After the “White Paper Movement,” field hospitals are being dismantled across China. On December 8, in Kunshan City, Jiangsu Province, kindergartens and primary schools in Beijing’s Chaoyang district and Beijing Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine all wanted to build more cabins for field hospitals, but residents in neighboring residential areas vehemently opposed.

Some videos posted by Chinese people on overseas social networks show that many places in China are in the process of dismantling field hospitals. For example, Twitter account Xiao Ming tweeted: “It is equivalent to throwing taxpayer money away.”

The account @qingyanjiejie also posted a video showing the unfinished field hospitals being ready to be demolished! Her Twitter friends commented that this was too wasteful, throwing money away like scrap paper.

The account Haoge also posted a video showing field hospitals being dismantled.
