Your favorite comfort food is probably something warm, hearty, a little salty, and, most likely, cheesy if you’re like most Americans.

This recipe, simply titled “meatballs with potato puree and vegetables,” is hearty, comforting, and even healthy, thanks to the addition of chopped cabbage.

Because it does not simply contain cheese, this recipe for meatballs with potato puree and veggies is the perfect comfort food. Potatoes are regarded as the first comfort food, dating back to the 1970s.

The following are the steps to take:

Make the meatballs

You will need these ingredients: 500 grams of ground beef, 2 eggs, 150 grams of cabbage, 3 tablespoons of vegetable oil 30 ml, 2 cloves of garlic, 1 onion, 1 teaspoon of salt 8 grams, 3 tablespoons of wheat flour 60 grams, black pepper, cumin, paprika, thyme, parsley.

Collect the meatballs’ ingredients, including the chopped cabbage. In a large mixing basin, combine all of the ingredients and mix well with your hands.

Form the meatballs into oval patties and set them on a baking tray. Press the insides of each meatball with your fingers, squeezing the middle and producing a well in each meatball.

Make the potato puree

The ingredients you need: 5 potatoes, 50 grams of cheddar cheese, 3 tablespoons of milk (30 ml), 1 teaspoon of salt (4 grams), allspice, mint.

To begin, place your potatoes in a pan of boiling water over high heat. Boil the potatoes until they are tender.

Mash potatoes in a large mixing dish when they are done. Stir in the puree components (cheddar cheese, milk, salt, allspice, and mint) and mashed potatoes until everything is well combined.

Put smaller oval patties out of the potato mixture into the meatballs’ sunken parts. Pour sauce made with 2 tablespoons tomato paste (60 grams) and 1.5 cup water (300 ml) on the top.

Bake and enjoy

Bake for 35 to 45 minutes after you sprinkle the dish with 100 grams of cheddar cheese, until the dish is cooked through and the cheese has achieved your preferred consistency. Remove the pan from the heat, season with herbs, and savor the ultimate comfort food.

This recipe is rather similar to Italian meatballs with mashed potatoes, but you bake tomato puree with meatballs instead of mashed potatoes. Chili sauce, as well as pepper, can be added to taste.
