George Washington had more personality than just a great general capable of persuading people. His leadership style, vision, and courage united a country engulfed in war and directed it onto the road of wealth and prosperity.

Washington was an effective leader, with great inspirational vision and ability. Even during the most difficult times, Washington maintained a sincere, consistent personality with a solid moral foundation, creating a role model for leaders everywhere

Washington was also an entrepreneur and a creative farmer. For example, he was one of the first people in the United States to support the expansion of animal production and more effective use of mules—the result of mating of a male donkey and a female horse, making him the Steve Jobs of agriculture of that period.

Abraham Lincoln is considered one of the greatest presidents in American history. And Lincoln’s leadership skills are also very special.

In her book “Team of Rivals”, historian Doris Kearns Goodwin highlighted Lincoln’s brilliant leadership style when he, an unknown character managed to overcome many other heavyweight opponents to become U.S. president. After Lincoln’s unexpected victory, his opponents were extremely angry and somewhat dismayed. Surprisingly, Lincoln invited all competitors to join his Cabinet in prominent positions.

Goodwin explained that Lincoln’s success over other powerful rivals was attributed to his tempering experiences. Lincoln possessed a wonderful ability of putting himself in the shoes of others, to feel and understand their motives and desires.

It was this empathy that helped Lincoln become the only president capable of bringing his unpleasant opponents together, standing on the same line with him, thereby building the most special Cabinet in history, and exerting their full power to develop the nation.

Although the inclusion of big characters in the Cabinet proved challenging for Lincoln, by placing his opponents in important positions and seriously taking their advice, Lincoln finally gained their respect. That helped him to continue to overcome many difficulties facing an American president.

The American economy went through great difficulties and challenges during the Great Depression right after World War ll. But it was that period of time that marked President Franklin D. Roosevelt’s great successes with outstanding leadership skills.

In his first public speech, Roosevelt stated, “The only thing we have to fear is fear itself” when it came to the panic overwhelming the whole country during the Great Depression. At the same time, he also expressed his views on leadership: “In every dark hour of our national life a leadership of frankness and of vigor has met with that understanding and support of the people themselves, which is essential to victory.

Roosevelt is known for his outstanding political skills—his ability to reduce corruption, bureaucracy in government, explore political parties and special interests, while still putting the emphasis on people’s needs.

In his speeches on television, radio, or in symposiums, Roosevelt used his excellent communication skills to inspire Americans to overcome the Great Depression and World War II. Even in the darkest days of the worst period in American history, Roosevelt still maintained a special composure.

The determinant of Roosevelt’s success is the self-confidence and the consistent trust he placed in the people. Moreover, he had the great ability of transmitting his strength and optimism to others to make them believe that if everyone is united, nothing is impossible.

President Trump is known for his loyalty. When it comes to loyalty, it does not refer only to the loyalty to his family, friends, and colleagues but also to the promises that he made.

Since taking office, President Trump has actively realized all the goals and targets on his agenda while campaigning for the presidency back in 2016. Some steps or actions that he has taken might be deemed bold or risky, but they actually just manifest his farsightedness and big vision that he always embraces.

“As long as you are going to be thinking anyway, think big.”

President Trump shows great persistence in realizing his goals and agendas, among them the southern border wall, illegal immigration, and trade deals with China.

However, he still maintained flexibility as he once stated in “How to make America Great Again”:

“A great leader has to be flexible, holding his ground on the major principles but finding room for compromises that can bring people together. A great leader has to be savvy at negotiations so we don’t drown every bill in pork barrel bridges to nowhere.”

President Trump also possesses an exceptional ability of bringing people together under a common ideal and motto, that is the love for the homeland and a belief in God.

It is reflected in his statement “Our country, our people, and our laws have to be our top priority,” or right in his famous slogan: “Making America Great Again.”

President Trump always attaches a high importance to God and takes God’s protection as a guide for him to drive America forward:

“America has always been the land of dreams because America is a nation of true believers. When the pilgrims landed at Plymouth they prayed. When the Founders wrote the Declaration of Independence, they invoked our creator four times, because in America we don’t worship government, we worship God.”

It is no wonder President Trump has achieved such tremendous success and gained so much support.
