Chinese President Xi Jinping, and chairman of the Central Military Commission, recently signed an order promoting a set of regulations on the testing and assessing military equipment Xinhua News Agency reported.

According to the CCTV report, the new regulation consisting of 56 articles in 11 chapters to take effect on Thursday laid out regulations stipulating the basic tasks, contents, and management mechanisms of military equipment testing and assessment.

It means that New military equipment will go through stringent, scientific, and combat-oriented testing before being commissioned and during their service.

CCTV reported that improving the work pattern of testing and assessment will build a combat-oriented, flexible, and efficient Chinese military.

Xinhua reported that China aims to basically complete the modernization of its national defense and armed forces by 2035 and fully transform the PLA into a world-class military by the middle of the century.

Earlier this year, Xi Jinping ordered the military to push military training—the first order of the CMC in 2022, which declared the start of military training for the year.

In January, Xi Jinping’s military order No. 1 of 2022 asked the army to grasp the national security and military “changes in the struggle situation,” and keep an eye on changes in technology and changes in warfare.
