Wedding ceremonies are a public expression of the couple’s marriage vows and the beginning of their marital union. Simply put, it’s a memorable lifetime event, and it may happen once in a lifetime. Yet, there are still several unimaginable cases, as mentioned below.

Xuzhou, Jiangsu Province, was suddenly hit by COVID outbreaks on October 1.

This online video showed a couple in Xuzhou experiencing an unforgettable moment in their lives. The groom stood alone next to a TV when the emcee conducted the wedding ceremony. Meanwhile, the bride appeared on TV. They could only organize their wedding online.

As mainland media reported, the hotel where the bride stayed was wholly sealed due to a COVID outbreak the night before the wedding. On the wedding day, the groom went to the hotel to pick up the relatives and the bride, but to no avail.

In addition to inviting family members and friends, the groom had already finished preparing for his wedding. It was, therefore, too late to postpone the event.

In the video, the groom’s expression is not so good.

Another video from Xuzhou shows that the bride was sealed in a hotel. The groom could only propose marriage from outside the hotel building. Then the security guard passed the flowers to the bride behind the isolation line.

In Shanghai, a couple wed on August 29 of this year. The bride could only complete the wedding ceremony using a stand-in for the groom. Unfortunately, he had been placed under lockdown.

In July, a couple in Xuzhou also faced such a dilemma

They had arranged to get married on July 2. Then, the bride’s community suddenly imposed a lockdown at around 9 a.m. on the same day.

At 9 a.m, the groom’s convoy arrived at the gate of the bride’s community.
The bride and groom had a unique wedding ceremony across the cordon.
