On March 29, the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and State Supervision (CCDI) announced that Hao Chunrong, vice governor of Liaoning province, is suspected of serious disciplinary violations and is currently under disciplinary review and supervisory investigation.

According to China newspaper Sina, she is the second vice-governor of Liaoning province to be dismissed in March. Previously, the vice governor of Liaoning province and the head of the provincial public security department were arrested and dismissed.

Hao entered Liaoning’s bureaucratic system in 1983 and became the only female deputy governor of Liaoning in 2018. She previously held senior positions in the city governments of Panjin and Liaoyang, both in Liaoning.
