Due to heavy rain in downtown Liuzhou City, Guangxi from the early morning of May 27, many roads were flooded.

Most of the roads near the intersection of Weixing Road and Grape Mountain Road in Liuzhou City were in the same situation.

An online video showed that the water on the road was higher than car tires, and a large amount of red oil was floating in the water, which seemed like many different patches of blood.

The photographer said it was all chili oil and looked a bit horrific.

Some netizens also felt scared and guessed that the chili oil came from a close-by snail powder factory in an industrial park in Liuzhou.

A merchant at Grape Mountain Road said to Jimu News that the chili oil even splashed onto her mother’s clothes when her mother was on the way to the store by electric bike.

The Management Committee of the Yufeng District Industrial Park staff immediately cleaned it up.

The staff also said they did not know where the oil came from, but the reason was under investigation.
