On May 3, Taiwan’s President Tsai Ing-wen presided over the awarding ceremony for important high-level cadres of the national army. There, she thanked the former Air Force Commander Hsiung Hou-chi for his service to the country. She also urged Liu Jen-yuan, the new air force commander, to strengthen the air defense force.
On the same day, Defense Minister Chiu Kuo-cheng held the handover and award ceremony of the Air Force Commander. In his speech, he encouraged the air force officers and soldiers with three points of work guidance for the Air Force. He also mentioned that China’s Communist Party now has been aggressive in recent years in the waters and airspace near Taiwan.
Recently, the Ministry of National Defense of the Republic of China released the news on May 3 regarding China’s intrusion. It said that a Y-8 anti-submarine warfare aircraft had entered Taiwan’s Air Defense Identification Zone (ADIZ).
