Recently, South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem issued an executive order prohibiting state government employees and contractors from accessing the international version of TikTok on state devices. The cause is the platform’s ties to China.

Republicans criticized the TikTok platform. They said that the Chinese regime could access user data, such as browsing history and location.

The U.S. military has also banned the app on military equipment.

According to Global Witness and New York University’s Cybersecurity for Democracy team, Tiktok has been found to contain false information about the U.S. election.

Noem said in a statement that the CCP uses the information it collects on TikTok to manipulate the American people, and it collect data from the devices accessing the platform.Sen. Marco Rubio and Vice Chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee Mike Gallagher said that TikTok should be banned entirely in the U.S. They added that they planned to introduce legislation to ban TikTok and other platforms effectively controlled by the Chinese Communist Party.
