Shanghai has lately added several local confirmed cases, according to the official report released on March 3. The majority of the cases concentrated in the Putuo and Baoshan districts. As Chinese-language media Apollo reported on March 4, the Songjiang District was classified as a medium-risk area, with many hospitals announcing closures.

Seven hospitals in Shanghai have suspended outpatient and emergency services due to the pandemic, including the General Hospital of Huashan Hospital Affiliated with Fudan University, the Huangpu Branch of Shanghai Ninth People’s Hospital, Jiuting Hospital in Songjiang District, Shanghai, and Renhe Hospital in Baoshan District, Shanghai.

Many sporting centers, including the Putuo Sports Center and Putuo Stadium, are temporarily shuttered.

Eight of the infected people are members of a senior dancing team in Shiquan Community, Putuo District, and five are supermarket employees. Therefore, the Shiquan Activity Center in Putuo District, Shanghai, and the supermarket are medium-risk regions.

The trajectory of the current round of infected people in Shanghai also involves a vegetable market and a restaurant in Baoshan District. An anonymous merchant at the vegetable market on Gongfu Road, Baoshan District, told Xin Tang Ren media that anyone who appeared at the site was quarantined for 48 hours. They had to take two nucleic acid tests, and all were negative. Even so, the entire market was closed for two days.
