Netizens accuse tofu- dregs project as causing 8 deaths
Heavy rain and high winds caused an accident that left 8 people dead and 1 injured in Taitou, Luquan District, Shijiazhuang city.
According to authorities, a mixture of reinforced cement bricks and roof tiles of the north arch in Taitou Village fell from 39 feet, causing 8 people sheltering from the rain to be crushed underneath the rubble.
The video shows a chaotic scene where people were buried, other local people and rescuers are carrying out people from the rubble.
This incident has attracted the attention of the netizens, and they have accused it of being a tofu- dregs project. The “Tofu-dreg project” is used in Chinese to describe a poorly constructed building.

On July 4, a tornado suddenly appeared in Huangpu District, Guangzhou, and some factories were damaged. A video showed that the roof of a factory was torn open by a tornado, and building materials and debris were flying all over the sky, making for a frightening scene. The affected area was about 53,800 square feet. Luckily, there were no casualties at the scene. This is the fourth tornado created by Typhoon Simba in Guangdong Province.

At about 7:00 on July 2, a tornado appeared in Fuyang Town, Chaoan District, Chaozhou City. A large piece of iron sheet of a building was lifted out of the wall, and the electric door was also damaged by the tornado.
About 10:30 that day, a “waterspout” appeared on the sea surface of Qingao Bay, Nanao County, Shantou City. It lasted for about 10 minutes and disappeared without causing casualties.
Around 17:30, a tornado appeared near Xiqiao Town, Nanhai District, Foshan City, lasting about three minutes.

On July 4, the Environmental Protection Bureau of Xinhui District staff said that they had gone to the scene to check that the sewage had not been discharged. They are currently tracking the sewage discharge enterprises and will conduct tests on the wastewater.
