Shanghai citizens suffer uncountable rounds of tests and isolation as a result of the ongoing and endless Chinese Zero-Covid policy.
On July 13, 2022, the Shanghai Health Commission reported five local Covid cases, six imported cases, 42 local asymptomatic infections, and seven imported asymptomatic infections. In addition, close contacts of 48 imported cases have been traced, and 172 close contacts to imported asymptomatic infections. All have been placed in centralized isolation.
At the same time, Shanghai reported that 19 areas became medium-risk areas as of July 13, 2022, including Pudong, Putuo, Hongkou, Yangpu, Minhang, Baoshan, Jinshan, and Qingpu, among others.
Shanghai Yangpu district informed that it administered Covid tests three times for all employees in three days from July 14 to 16. Meanwhile, Jing’an District conducted two tests for all employees in two days, from July 15 to 16.
The Shanghai testing and isolation illustrate the suffering the Chinese people experience due to the Zero-Covid policy in particular and the inhumane policies of the Chinese Communist Party.
