Republican Senator Lindsey Graham said Wednesday, May 27, that he plans to propose sanctions on China for not allowing an independent investigation into the possible leak of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) Virus at the Wuhan lab, the New York Post reported.

“I don’t think without sanctions, without international pressure, they’re ever going to help. The only way China’s going to respond is when the world makes them respond,” Graham said.

“So sanctions led by the United States, embraced by the world, I think would get us to where we need to go, and I intend to introduce those sanctions relatively soon,” the Republican asserted.

The theory that the coronavirus escaped from the Wuhan lab where tests and experiments had been underway for years on this type of virus, typically found in bats, began to gain traction Sunday after the Wall Street Journal published a story, asserting that U.S. officials documented hospitalizations of several lab employees in late 2019 shortly before the first cases were confirmed.

While it was not confirmed that the reason for the hospitalizations was the CCP Virus, experts believe there are too many coincidences not to consider that possibility.

“You don’t have to be Sherlock Holmes to figure this out,” Graham said. “If the first cases of COVID-19 (CCP Virus) occurred in November, with lab workers, doesn’t that make it more likely than not that the source of the virus was in the lab, not a wet market? So, I think it’s becoming increasingly clear.”

“We haven’t found an animal yet that is a good host for the virus. If the first cases involve lab workers in Wuhan, it’s most likely they got it in the lab,” Graham added.

Interestingly, Dr. Fauci who previously said it was highly unlikely that the virus escaped from a laboratory, now expressed that he no longer believed the virus originated naturally.

At the same time, mainstream media and social media such as Facebook and Twitter, which previously censored posts alleging the lab theory and treated former President Trump as a conspirator for claiming that the virus had escaped from the lab, suddenly reversed their previous stance and now the issue gained quite significant coverage.

Facebook has just announced that it will stop censoring posts that hint at the Wuhan lab theory.

China awkwardly defends itself

As the eyes of the world are on the Wuhan lab in one of the CCP’s propaganda outlets, the Global Times, scientists at the lab published a report concluding that the coronavirus originated from pangolins, anteater-like mammals.

According to Breitbart, the report on the genetic profile of the Chinese coronavirus, itself proves that WIV (Wuhan Institute of Virology) has been studying coronaviruses and is therefore likely to be in possession of samples.

Scientists in the WIV say that the coronavirus is more similar to viruses found in pangolins and that pangolins first got it from bats.

But what the report fails to argue is how the viruses made the jump from pangolin to human, i.e., how they adapted to infect a person, which is ‘technically’ impossible without modification of the protein spikes that allow the viruses to enter human cells.

The note dismisses without foundation that the virus was made artificially or that it escaped from the laboratory.

Earlier this year, a group of WHO researchers conducted an investigation into the origin of the virus in WIV. Their conclusion was that the origin of the virus was the seafood market and not the laboratory.

However, members of the same group of investigators later revealed that it was the Chinese authorities who provided all the material to investigate and acted as intermediaries without giving them direct access to the site, taking all sense out of the ‘independence’ of the investigation.
