The 20th National Party Congress has just ended, and a wave of COVID cases has broken out across the country.

The scene of thousands of people flocking to a COVID testing site in Guangzhou, the capital of Guangdong, caused a stir in public opinion.

Currently, the Haizhu district of Guangzhou is the most affected area. On the night of October 28, Haizhu authorities officially denied the lockdown rumor. But on October 30, they immediately announced the tightening of control.

On the same day, October 30, a large number of Dabai – epidemic prevention and control staff – and policemen were sent to Haizhu district in Guangzhou. A video on the Internet shows Dabai in white protective suit entering a closed area in long lines. A large number of police officers stood by the side of the road.

The female resident exclaimed in the video: “There is another group here, the street is full of people in white.”

According to flight data, as of noon on October 31, Guangzhou Baiyun Airport canceled 888 flights that day. The cancellation rate was 69%. While Urumqi, Hohhot, Zhengzhou, and some others, it is close to 100%.

According to the official WeChat account of “Healthy Shanghai 12320”, 47 new positive cases have been recorded in Shanghai for 5 consecutive days.

The official WeChat account of Shanghai Disney Resort also announced the closure of Shanghai Disneyland as of October 31. Visitors with Shanghai Disneyland tickets as of October 31, 2022 will be allowed to visit one day within six months after the park reopens. Tourists who cannot visit within the next 6 months will be reimbursed.

There are currently 18 medium-risk zones in Shanghai; residents are not allowed to leave those areas.
