According to the Local Commission for Discipline Inspection website, Huang Yibin, a former member of the Standing Committee of the Puning City Party Committee and former Secretary of the Political and Legal Party Committee of Jieyang City, Guangxi Province Dong has voluntarily surrendered and was under investigation.
It is not clear what crime Huang Yibin has committed, as the authority only mentioned his “serious violations of discipline and law.”
Huang Yibin, 58, is from Puning, Guangdong. He served in Puning for a long time, serving as the Deputy Secretary of the Party Union of the Standing Committee of the Puning City People’s Congress and the Deputy Director of the Standing Committee of the City People’s Council in March 2016.
NTD reported on Dec. 14 that, while serving as Secretary of the Local Political and Legal Affairs Committee, Huang Yibin was accused of participating in the CCP’s (Chinese Communist Party’s) persecution of Falun Gong practitioners. Huang Yibin’s name was listed on the international website of the Coalition to Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong.
According to the CCP’s Central Commission for Discipline Inspection, from late February to late June 2021, authorities carried out the first round of overhauling the political and legal systems at the city and county levels across the country. Nearly 20,000 political and legal officials and police officers voluntarily surrendered.
The second overhaul of the political and legal system began in mid-August and lasted three months. The Legal Affairs Committee and the Political and Legal Affairs Commission investigate the so-called “two-faced people” who are disloyal and dishonest within the Xi Jinping government.
Since this year, at least 25 senior CCP officials at the provincial and ministerial levels have been dismissed. Several officials who held high positions in politics and law have voluntarily surrendered.
For example, Meng Yongshan, former party secretary and chief prosecutor of the Qinghai Provincial Procuratorate informed his voluntary surrender on June 2. He became the first provincial prosecutor to surrender during his term voluntarily.
Xue Heng, former Vice Chairman of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Committee of Liaoning Province, voluntarily surrendered on Aug. 3. Xue Heng served in the political and legal system of the Chinese Communist Party for a long time and also served as the Director of the Provincial Public Security Department and the Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Political and Legal Committee.
