Chinese cities from Wuhan in central China to Xining in the northwest are stepping up COVID restrictions. Buildings were isolated, and districts were locked down, leaving millions of people distressed.
Chinese media Mimi Zhongguo cited the data on the official website of the Wuhan Municipal Health and Health Commission as reporting that Wuhan reported 99 positive COVID cases from October 21 to October 26.
According to Zhengguan News, on October 27, Yang Xiaobing, director of the Infectious Disease Control and Prevention Institute of the Wuhan Center for Disease Control and Prevention, said that the pandemic outbreaks in Wuhan this round are the evolutionary branch of the Omicron variant BA.5.2.
On October 27, videos posted on Youtube show Wuhan, Hubei province, has been put under lockdown. Large-scale quarantine facilities have been reopened. The loudspeakers were broadcasting the requirements and regulations for the quarantined people.
