According to Yahoo News, on the morning of July 7, a serious traffic accident occurred in a rural area in Chengzhuang Town, Linxian County, Luliang City, Shanxi Province. At high speed, a white vehicle crashed directly into a crowd of people at a wedding ceremony. The accident left five people dead and six injured. 

The Linxian Public Security Bureau confirmed the incident, reporting that the tragedy occurred at about 8:57 a.m. on July 7. All the injuries suffered by those taken to the hospital for treatment are not life-threatening. 

The police immediately restrained the driver, and the cause of the accident is under further investigation.

In the video, a white car can be seen rolled over on the side of the road, and the car’s hood is severely damaged. Several people were lying on the ground, covered with cloth.

Tianmu News cited people familiar with the matter as reporting that the groom was supposed to receive the bride at that point and head back to the village. 

Apart from relatives, many villagers were watching people doing yangko dances when, unexpectedly, a white vehicle drove into the crowd without warning.

The incident then caught the public’s attention.

One commented: It was premeditated. I guess it was [due to] an ex-relationship.
