China has seen unprecedented heat waves, which caused drying up rivers, wilting crops, and sparking forest fires.

Sichuan province hit 44 ºC ( 111 ºF) on Wednesday, August 24. A week ago, Beibei in Chongqing province reached 45 ºC (113 ºF), the hottest temperature recorded in China outside the Xinjiang desert.

Even wildfires couldn’t stop the Chinese regime’s willingness to conduct COVID tests for its residents.

Recently, a trending video allegedly took place at a nucleic acid testing site in the Chinese metropolis of Chongqing on August 23. It shows a crowd of people waiting to be tested.

Under the heat, people must wear face masks. Some even fanned themselves to relieve the heat. Among them, several children were carried by their parents. In the background, smoke from wildfires is visible.

The post had more than 100,000 views, attracting the public’s attention.

One user said, “Happiness under the leadership of the party.”

Another wrote, “If the background is that the house is on fire and the smoke is billowing, and everyone is still doing nucleic acid, it is more dramatic.”

Also, a picture of someone taking a COVID test not far from the wildfire scene was on the Internet. The smoke can be seen billowing up into the sky. A person nearby also wore a uniform with the word “Firefighter” on it.

The incident reportedly took place in Chongqing.

The picture then stirred heated debate on the Internet; some even sarcastically said that this picture could win an award.

“You can win a Pulitzer Prize, it’s so magical!”

“Best photo shoot in 2022!”

There is also a picture of a long line of people waiting to take COVID tests as wildfire is blazing in the distance.

Early in the morning on August 24, a child even fainted while lining up for the COVID test due to the intense heat.

According to CNN News, Chongqing’s authorities ordered COVID mass testing for more than 10 million people in the city’s central urban districts starting on Wednesday, August 24. It’s worth mentioning that these people have to undergo COVID tests when the highest temperature in Chongqing exceeds 40 ºC (104 ºF).
