The pandemic situation in Suzhou, Jiangsu Province, has become more serious, and authorities asked citizens not to leave unless necessary. The whole staff of Suzhou Industrial Park and Wuzhong District are nucleic acid tested. Suzhou Children’s Hospital and many other hospitals were closed for emergency treatment. The city’s primary and secondary schools and kindergartens are temporarily suspended, and offline training institutions were suspended, Xin Tang Ren reported on Feb. 14.

On Feb. 14, Suzhou City officials reported that on the evening of Feb. 13, four people in Suzhou City tested positive after a nucleic acid test on initial screening and review. As a result, the city and district levels of epidemic prevention and control activated the emergency disposal mechanism.

On the evening of the 13th, Jiangsu Suzhou Children’s Hospital immediately announced that the general hospital of the hospital park would suspend outpatient and emergency medical services. Likewise, Suzhou Industrial Park Xinghu Hospital announced suspending all external diagnosis and treatment business. Furthermore, the headquarters of Suzhou Municipal Hospital has also suspended outpatient and emergency services, except for emergency obstetrics.

The city’s primary and secondary schools and kindergartens are suspended, as are all offline training institutions.

The city’s public gatherings are canceled; public transport controls are strengthened; rail traffic, taxis, buses, and other measures are strictly implemented to measure the temperature of travelers.

Online and offline pharmacies suspended the sale of four categories of epidemic-monitoring drugs, including “antipyretic, cough, antiviral and antibacterial.”

According to Voice of Hope, on Feb. 14, there was a sudden outbreak of 7 confirmed cases in Suzhou Industrial Park, with 1 case of asymptomatic infection. As a result, the chip factories involved were shut down, and all residents of Suzhou Industrial Park underwent full nucleic acid testing. The official report said that the infective virus is a variant of the Omicron strain.

According to the report, Sino Wealth Electronic Ltd. announced that on Feb. 14, an outbreak occurred in Suzhou Industrial Park, and a nucleic acid test was conducted for all the employees of the industrial park. Also, the production activities of suppliers in Suzhou Industrial Park, Hejian Technology Corporation, and Jinglong Technology were suspended. As a result, production will be affected and may cause short-term delays in product supply due to the delayed work suppliers and poor logistics.

Also, on Feb. 14, the wafer fab and Jian’s parent company announced the production activities of the 8-inch wafer fab, and Jian’s chip manufacturing company in Suzhou was shut down.
